The Little Sisters
CAMPER(ages 11-17)
Each summer we invite young Black girls to join us at our local spiritually rooted farm to celebrate their Blackgirlhood + culture through cooking, harvesting, reading, writing + play, reclaiming our relationship to land, food + ourselves.
VOLUNTEER (ages 18+)
Once a Little Sister ages out of the Summer Workshop they are invited to come back as Volunteer Camp Staff. All Little Sisters are eligible, regardless of age, to volunteer at our community events.
COMMUNITY EDUCATOR
It is our hope that our Little Sisters carry on the legacies of our foremothers, continuing to serve + love on their communities + the Earth, whether they elect to join the OMK team or go on to birth their own remarkable projects.
The Folks
So much of what OMK stands for was born out of our love for The Folks: our people, our family, our community. From the very beginning they have loved on us, supported us, donated their resources, time + energy to assist in this dream and vision. With their continued engagement love + support, we are eager to expand our community by providing programming for all of us.
Our Folks are always welcome to register feedback + offer suggestions for how we can better serve the community, honor our ancestral legacies + cultivate a more free + lush world for our descendants. Of course, we are always open to collaboration!
